Businesses show support for Town

TWO local businesses have come to the aid of Warrington Town FC in their hour of need, providing significant funds for vital works to be carried out at their HG Driver Recruitment Stadium.

The club, which recently unveiled its 2020 vision to reach the Football league in seven years, needed ground improvements as part of an FA grading process which they were in danger of losing if they did not have works carried out at the stadium. Local businessman Alan Roskell a Director at Dante Group who have offices in Paddington heard about the club’s requirement and came to the rescue. Dante sourced and funded two new toilet

blocks and have also made improvements to the dug outs and erected new hoardings around the entrance to the ground. Mr Roskell said: “A few months ago when I heard about the club’s vision and plans for the future I was blown away by the enthusiasm and commitment of those involved. We decided as a company we would support our local club and we will continue to do that going forward. I have always believed that a Town the size of Warrington should have a Football League team and hopefully we can help them achieve that.”

Mr Roskell is now urging other local businesses to help the club going forward. He added “There’s a growing group of local businesses that are coming on board to help but more is needed and at this level, any contribution be that a direct sponsorship, or an in kind offer through help with a specific project, can make a real difference.

Another Warrington company Urban Building Projects recently provided the funds for a full refurbishment of the Vice presidents sponsors lounge, transforming the space that can now be used for functions and education as well as match day entertainment.

Carl Palmer of Urban Building Projects said: “I was approached by the club regarding a sponsorship deal and I asked if I could see where I could bring guests. I decided to go the extra mile and agreed to the whole refurbishment of the Lounge. We are happy to help the club and we love the match day experience. This is real Football and theres a great buzz about the place too.”

Dante and Urban are now in discussions with the club regarding other projects to improve the match day experience. Warrington Town’s Operations Direcor Toby Macormac said: “We are indebted to these businesses and individuals. They have given vital support to the club in its hour of need.”
